Sebla.Adam Osborne, was born and raised in Ethiopia, and began her cooking education ever since she was able to hand her aunt ingredients near the open hearth. As she grew and learned she became an expert in Ethiopian cuisine. After high school she became educated in classical culinary arts. But her love for Ethiopian cuisine was in her blood and now she returns to her roots. Now living her life long dream, she produces instructional videos for “”Ethiopian at Home”. Her goal in doing so is to demystify the cooking of Ethiopian dishes. She feels that Ethiopian cuisine is one of the world’s best kept secrets, and her goal is to bring a taste of Ethiopia to the world.
Q1. What type of videos do you produce?
Here at “Ethiopian At Home”, we create short-form, educational, and occasionally funny cooking videos geared towards beginners and intermediate cooks, as well as people who are just looking to learn about Ethiopian food and culture.
Q2 Is everything made from scratch?
Everything we make and teach is made from scratch. I feel that If you are going to learn how to cook Ethiopian food, you are going to learn it for real! But, I promise it will be fun, easy and very delicious.
Q3 What language is your videos in?
All of our videos are in English.
Q4. Where can you buy the spices for the food on the videos?
All of the spices used can be purchased from our website. They are authentic Ethiopian spices, and not spices conjured up in some commercial factory and calling them Ethiopian spices when they really are not. We pre-measure our spices and tailor them for each dish. We make it so simple that all one has to do is watch our videos unzip our pre-measured packets add and cook.
Q5. What type of recipes do you provide?
Our recipes range from the traditional Ethiopian dishes and extend to newly created fusion dishes that incorporate Ethiopian spices into other cuisines. For example our take on “Ethiopian Shrimp Fajitas” and Ethiopian Pot Roast.
In addition to our meat dishes, we have a large listing of vegetarian dishes.
